Aneka has over 15 years of experience in research, evaluation, and communications in the non-profit, arts and corporate sectors across Canada, Cambodia and the U.K.

Her focus is translating research and impact into easy-to-implement projects and effective communication tools using video, audio, and data.

She is especially interested in fair consultation, co-production, and social value, highlighting unheard voices in the planning, evaluation, and communication of any project, especially in sectors with historically low diversity.

Making change happen

Ella initiated the Advertising Standards Authority’s world-leading project to ban harmful gender stereotypes in advertising. This led to a new rule in the UK Advertising Codes and inspired global advertising regulatory change.

Spending most of her career working in media and advertising policy, she has led on wide-ranging policy development across a range of sectors.

She moved into the third sector in 2019, continuing the fight for gender equality at the Fawcett Society while co-founding Benthyg Cymru, Wales' Library of Things network. Having played an instrumental role in kickstarting borrowing around Wales, she is continuing to make the Circular Economy a reality, heading up support for Wales' thriving network of over 130 Repair Cafes
